This year will mark 40 years since the Ghostbusters banded together in Dan Aykroyd’s iconic film, and in the latest installment in the iconic series, the gang is getting back together. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire features everything that an OG fan will love, including the iconic firehouse, which the Spenglers return to in order to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. With the film taking place in such an iconic city, it only made sense for Manhattan to play home to the premiere as well.
On Thursday, the star-studded cast including Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Kumail Nanjiani, and Patton Oswalt, joined seasoned Ghostbusters veterans Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts at AMC Lincoln Square 13 to celebrate the release of the highly anticipated film.
Directed by Gil Kenan and co-written by himself and Jason Reitman, Set two years after the events of its predecessor, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire follows the Spengler family as they team up with the original Ghostbusters to stop a grueling second ice age. Together, they must confront a chilling threat unleashed by the discovery of an ancient artifact, which threatens to plunge the city into a second Ice Age. With supernatural action, comedic moments, and a touch of mystery, the film promises to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience.
