Mystical cocktails, tarot readings, and live whisky tastings to celebrate the 2022 Diageo Single Malt Scotch Whisky Special Releases launch at Temple Bar in NYC.
Home to many of its household brands such as Johnny Walker, Tanqueray, Smirnoff, Guinness, and Bailey’s, this year, Diageo has released ‘The Elusive Expressions’, a collection of eight uniquely crafted whiskies from the rarest distilleries in Scotland. The whiskies debuted at the event were: The Singleton, Oban, Talisker, and Lagavulin.
A dim-lit room cozy enough for guests to indulge in cocktails, the ambiance was a true match for the mystical themes of each whisky. Upon entry, guests were greeted at the bar with whisky-flavored cocktails such as the ‘Maritime Magic’, ‘The Spellbinder’, and ‘Flaming Isles’. The event also featured a mouthwatering food menu of grilled cheese bites drizzled in honey, caviar blinis, lobster rolls, cheeseburger sliders, steak bites, etc. Followed by delicious sweets to seal the night, such as crème brûlée topped with raspberry sauce and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Another staple of the night? Individualized tarot card readings. Through each whisky story, the psychic revealed to guests which drink was most representative of our “mystical” side. The psychic then distributed cards that aligned with our personalities to later be called to try the whisky we were assigned. Also on the scene was actor Benjamin Walker who is indeed a whisky-enthusiast, who celebrated the launch and enjoyed the tasting!
