Last week we attended the C+ plus Series’ NYFW Spring/Summer 2019 Runway show.
Held in Gallery 1, the C+ plus Series show, included a wide color palette consisting of bold colors, sport accessories and feminine, yet structured silhouettes. The brand as a whole empowers and celebrates “the sublime nature of woman.” The concept of the collection is to celebrate the “internal freedom of women” and translate that into physical form. The balance between femininity and modernism are key motifs in this collection and the brand as whole.
Launched in 2018 by C.T. Louis, C+ plus Series strives to highlight the contrasts that live harmoniously within urban attire. Each piece in the collection “pays homage to the natural refinement of a career woman.” The collection has pieces that exert an ethereal/spiritual essence, while some looks are inspired by extreme sports, which was a huge inspiration to Louis while creating this collection.
Standout pieces in this collection included a baggy, plaid print dress, that best represents the juxtaposition of fragility and structure found within femininity and even the urban jungle. This standout look won me over not only with its impressively deconstructed silhouette, but even the dual color footwear exemplifies female modernity.
