An exclusive showcase celebrating the incredible fusion of tradition and innovation highlighting a diverse group of global designers
A shining star from this year’s NYFW walks is a private fashion show held at Sony Hall showcasing some of the most incredible emerging designers from the global stage. “Splendid China” not only highlights emerging Chinese artists who blend tradition with wearability, but also features various global designers from Canada, the UK, and Mexico amongst others.
The show featured a variety of styles including couture designs, bridal gowns, vacation beachwear as well as minimalistic office semi-formal sets that are perfect for your next day at the office. Some of our favorites were the statement pieces by PYG inspired by Chinese watercolor paintings and the Indigenous art collection by Canadian designer Pacha. The colorful designs from M.E. by Menat Essawy also left a lasting impression on us and seem like the perfect outfits to wear on your next sunny vacation.
Not only did the show have a splendid blend of clothing but, the audience also had the pleasure to sit perfectly crafted cocktails from Sony Hall’s expert bartenders. The seating was also artfully set up with tables beside the runway and elevated seating further away, so the audience could see the runway show clearly no matter where they sat.
The show ended with a phenomenal walk by the renowned Chinese designer, Grace Chen. Her collection consisted of a series of sleek daily wear designs as well as more formal dresses that are perfect for your next gala needs. Whether it was her office day designs or the more gown-like attire, they were all designed with her signature lustrous elegance.
