We’ve got you covered with some of last week’s most unique releases.

NVDES – 24/7 FT. TOMMY CASH [VIBE NATION]

LA-based electronic / pop musician NVDES continues to ride the momentum of his successful campaigns with Apple and Need For Speed with his latest offering, “24/7”. The track – released alongside a vibrant music video – is a mélange of electropop elements that crank up the intensity to the max. NVDES is the world that Josh Ocean created for himself, an ongoing art project that continuously evolves while still remaining distinct to him and his energy. Belonging to no genre, the sound and aesthetic of NVDES has one simple intention: to share raw creative energy and high frequency vibrations with listeners in order to inspire a connection.

CLOUDNONE & DIRECT – FURTHER [MONSTERCAT]

Fresh off the release of his ‘Lights Out’ EP in June, and highly unique ILLENIUM ‘Sad Songs’ remix in May, the enigmatic CloudNone is back with Monstercat regular, Direct for ‘Further’. CloudNone has emerged as a rising star on the Monstercat roster, with a slew of EP, single, and compilation releases dating back to 2018. The cut opens with a light pulsating melody, quickly meshing with the filtered vocals of Matt Van. Honing in on a genre somewhere between liquid breakbeat and deep house, the track builds with a rather sizable breakdown, drawing attention to the atmospheric nature of the single. The second half of ‘Further’ sees emphasis placed on the lead synths, combining for a driving four-minute journey laden with emotion.

GL0BAL – INSOMNIA 2 EP [CIRCUS RECORDS]

Building off the momentum from the release of lead singles from earlier this Spring, the ‘Insomnia 2’ EP offers a cohesive soundscape that’s reflective of Gl0bal’s signature bass and trap sound. Opening with the first lead single, ‘WYN’ effortlessly primes listeners’ for the magnitude of the EP with all the sensibilities of a trap classic. The second lead single ‘Believe’ features hauntingly ethereal vocals perfectly paired in conjunction with nefarious synths and hefty bass drops. The next offering from ‘Insomnia 2’ features emotive vocals from Gaby Borromeo, a previous contestant from NBC’s hit show The Voice.  The Insomnia 2 EP serves as a true testament to Gl0bal’s dexterity and studio prowess.

JOHN MONKMAN – ASRIEL [BEESEMEYER]

Monkman crosses a personal frontier with the presentation of a new sonic initiative called ‘Asriel’. The project takes fuel from a need for unbridled creativity and a thirst to break his status quo. Recorded in a series of impromptu sessions over a two week period, it showcases John Monkman’s craft in a new light. ‘Asriel’ comes at a time of global pause and isolation. It presents soothing tones as a desired affront to the test of recent times, while also offering up a challenge that encourages one to delve deeper in introspection. Encompassing elements of ambient sound design and abstract minimalism, there are moments of euphoria but also of anxiety and suspense

AQUIHAYAQUIHAY – YA NO ES IGUAL [DIM MAK EN FUEGO]

Last week, Steve Aoki announced the inception of Dim Mak En Fuego, a label dedicated to releasing hybrid sounds from both the Latin global underground and contemporary Latin hitmakers, as well as from Aoki himself. Mexican anti-boyband AQUIHAYHAY are the first to release on this new creative venture with their single, “Ya No Es Igual”. The single is a vibey track with a seamless blend of trap beats, synth chords, witty lyricism, and complex melodies with main influences stemming from Pop and R&B.
