YELLOW CLAW – BASSGOD FT. RAMENGVRL, SIHK, JUYEN SEBULBA [BARONG FAMILY]
Yellow Claw starts the year off with a brand new fiery single and music video. A festival-ready single suited for rail riding and headbanging, “BASSGOD” is an offering of Barong Family’s finest. After meeting in Thailand for various studio sessions, Yellow Claw, Juyen Sebulba, Sihk, and Ramengvrl combine their efforts to drive speakers to their limits with a mirage of skull-shattering bass.
APASHE – INSANE (REMIXES) [KANNIBALEAN RECORDS]
Apashe’s hit 2020 track ‘Insane’ is back to ring in the new year in the form of several hard-hitting remixes, courtesy of DJ/producer Kai Wachi, G-house legend BIJOU, Platinum-awarded producer Varien, and elusive talent BILLYTHEKID. Kai Wachi’s relentless reinterpretation starts off the 4-track EP, truly kicking it off with a bang. BIJOU’s rendition begins with a subdued, flowing beat, quickly followed by the forcefully commanding rap verse. Tampa-based talent Nikki Kaelar, known as Varien, is up next, and prominently features her flexing her established video game composer prowess. Enigmatic producer BILLYTHEKID finishes the 4-track EP, ending the pack with an atmospherically entrancing tone.
JUS KNO’ – LOOPED CIRCLES [FANECA MUSIC]
First conceived in 2015, Asturian artists Alex Aller and Pablo Villanueva conjoined their aptitudes for production and visual art to create innovative and thoughtful electronic music; coining the name for their audio-visual brainchild Just Kno’. With 2020 providing ample time for reflection and insight, Jus Kno’ seized the opportunity to fine-tune their creative frequencies and produce their debut studio album. Composed in quarantine, ‘Looped Circles’ represents the culmination of years of collective experience, inspiration, and dedication to their craft. The lead single and title track off of the album foreshadow what’s in store from Jus Kno’s forthcoming full body of work this March.
CARLO WHALE – MAR NERO [ODDITY RECORDINGS]
Taking 2021 by storm, Carlo Whale delivers his second single of the new year with the release of ‘Mar Nero’. The mesmerizing single is part of Oddity Recordings’ annual various artists compilation, Odd Echoes Vol. 4. Serving as a follow to his recent single ‘No Romance’ via Einmusika, ‘Mar Nero’ strengthens Carlo Whale’s sharp trajectory in the electronic music space and leaves much to be desired from the rising techno talent.
FAMBA – STILL CALL YOU MINE [SONY MUSIC CANADA]
Riding high from the momentum of two big collaborations in 2020, Famba returns with ‘Still Call You Mine,’ the first song from his forthcoming EP, Wishes Vol. 2, to be released later in the year. In ‘Still Call You Mine,’ Famba’s signature pop-leaning dance production blends seamlessly with the track’s dynamic vocal performance and vibrant piano, culminating in a catchy chorus that embodies the song’s optimistic tone and narrative of unconditional love.
