Check out our picks for the best electronic releases of the week, including new tunes from Andrew Pololos, Route 8, ESCPE, and more.

ANDREW POLOLOS – CONTROL FT. JT SOUL [KOOKOO RECORDS]

“Control” is a bass-drenched house cut that makes us excited for the Canadian DJ and producer’s upcoming album, Until We Dance. Oozing with sultry vocals and sizzling deep house sensibilities, the track provides a glimpse into what’s to come from the bubbling producer’s upcoming venture. Opening with a subtle melody, JT Soul’s enticing vocals flood the soundscape as the track quickly morphs into a heavy house beat. Pololos’ production shines throughout the track with a layering of groovy synths and a rolling bassline. Designed with the dancefloor in mind, ‘Control’ has an infectious melody that is sure to resonate with listeners across the dance music space.

FELIX JAEHN – NO THERAPY (REMIX EP) [UNIVERSAL MUSIC)

Felix Jaehn’s ‘No Therapy’ is an LGBTQIA+ anthem released at the tail end of this August to immense commercial success and much critical acclaim. Now, the highly-regarded single, featuring vocals from L.A.-based artist Bryn Christopher and Swedish singer/songwriter Nea, has enlisted Vintage Culture, Black V Neck, and Toby Romeo for a diverse remix treatment. Kicking things off, Vintage Culture’s remix introduces a more club-ready sound to the four-on-the-floor rinser. Black V Neck takes the reins next, with a fun, bouncy reimagining of the tune. A certified house music jam, the energetic new take flips the original production on its head, opting for a more heart-fluttering approach. Last but certainly not least, Toby Romeo’s remix initially presents the song as a very contemplative piece, before quickly picking up in pace. The piano is prominently featured alongside driving vocals courtesy of Nea and Bryn, with both singer’s soaring voices carrying distinctively fun energy throughout the remix’s entirety.

ROUTE 8 – REWIND THE DAYS OF YOUTH [LOBSTER THEREMIN]

We’ve been avid followers of Route 8’s music since the release of his timeless EP, This Raw Feeling, back in 2015. When he teased his debut album with the lead single, “Tomorrow Comes Today” ft. Quails, we knew we were in for a treat. Rewind The Days Of Youth encompasses all that is fantastic in Route 8’s discography – subtle grooves combined with enthralling lo-fi house flavor. Inspired by the same highway he took his name from, the album comes after its original version was lost after the producer had his belongings stolen while touring the US. The recreated result was well worth the wait.

BMW KENNY – WIPE IT DOWN (STIKMATIK & MIKE RENZA)

A breakout hit, BMW Kenny’s “Wipe It Down” took the world by storm. The track hit the Top 40 of Spotify’s Viral Charts in almost 30 countries after a whopping 3.7 Million TikTok users created videos using the song, including videos from Will Smith, Jason Derulo, and Kira Kosarin. Now, “Wipe It Down” receives an official deep house makeover from STIKMATIK & Mike Renza. Adding nuanced dance flair to an already bustling track, STIKMATIK & Mike Renza add a four-on-the-floor spin to “Wipe It Down.” Tactfully chopping up BMW Kenny’s signature vocals, STIKMATIK & Mike Renza flip the track with a driving kick and heavy 808s. Burgeoning house synths propel this 2 minute and 30 second official remix, putting the rework in a prime position for the next wave of TikTok virality.

ESCPE – CLOUD WALK EP [GRAVITAS RECORDINGS]

Create and immerse yourself in your own reverie with Cloud Walk. Released on revered bass imprint, Cloud Walk encourages listeners to engage in an absence of mind and exist in their own universe through six ethereal offerings. Presenting five solo productions and one collaboration with Axel Theseleff, Cloud Walk is a transcendental tapestry of sonics that resides in the heavens.

MARAUDA – AVOIDABLE CAUSE [MALIGNANT RECORDS]

Celebrated Australian dubstep producer MARAUDA brings a spirited, fierce edge to modern bass music. His pursuit to challenge and reinvent dubstep has led to a headlining North American tour in 2019 and hair-raising performances at festivals like Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, Ubbi Dubbi, Global Dub Festival, and many more. His official remixes for Hero Bust’s “WTF” and Snails’ “KING IS BACK” are wicked reminders that MARAUDA fits in squarely with the pioneers of bass music.  “AVOIDABLE CAUSE” is a blistering cut with spitfire transitions and mutated soundscapes. This ambitious track beckons a breakneck production style suited for dubstep and bass enthusiasts from Australia to America.
