Devi is back and as dramatic as ever
Last Friday was the long awaited day for the return of Netflix’s hit show “Never Have I Ever.” And prior to the release on Friday, fans got a chance to have a sneak peak at the first two episodes of the show last Wednesday. This preview was happening in most major cities and in New York, this event took place at The Paris Theater. Fans from all around the city came in to check out the first two episodes of the show. And to everyone’s surprise and excitement, a special guests arrived. This special guests was none other than the Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who plays the main character of the show, Devi. While Maitreyi was here, she answered some fan questions submitted by the audience. These questions included insight on her character Devi as well as some of the behind the scenes moments that happened during filming. And when asked about what this season was about, Maitreyi responded that this upcoming season was a season about self-love and self-discovery, noting that this is the time that Devi takes time for herself and learns to love herself. Following the Q&A, fans got a chance to test out their “Never Have I Ever” knowledge during some trivia. And the prize was something to die for which was the iconic “Pounded by Paxton” shirt that showed up in the first two episodes. And these shirts were unique because they were signed by Darren Barnet who plays Paxton as well as the creator of the show, Mindy Kaling.
Once trivia was done, fans waited eagerly to watch the first two episodes of the show, and it was everything you were hoping for and more. This season, a lot of the clever wit and jokes are back with a lot more punch to it and sometimes even pushing the envelope a bit. And there was a fun re-introduction into the Indian culture which is something many fans appreciated about the previous seasons of the show. It is also clear that this season is also about Devi discovering and loving herself all while navigating her troubled teen years and surviving high school will dating the hottest boy in school, Paxton.
