NaturallyCurly presented their annual “Texture on the Runway” hair show powered by Sally Beauty. Celebrating their 20th anniversary, NaturallyCurly’s co-founder Michelle Breyer hosted the event alongside Latin Pop recording artist Amara La Negra.
If you’re a Curly girl or naturalista you know that “Texture on the Runway” is one of the most exciting events of the year. NaturallyCurly has been the authority in bringing forth inclusivity of all hair textures since 1998. With Sally Beauty being the retail sponsor of the show, the best of the best curly girl friendly brands showcased what textured hair can do when paired with their products.
Brands such as SheaMoisture, Cantu, The Mane Choice, Camille Rose Naturals, Carol’s Daughter, Creme of Nature, and Mielle Organics all participated in showcasing some incredible hair-dos.
Camille Rose Naturals kicked off the show with an around the world theme. Models walked down the runway in cultural garb from the Middle East, South Pacific and Amazonian regions of the world with long braids, bantu knots and high ponytails all accessorized in gold jewelry.
Mielle Organics alongside their lead stylist, Key Glover, put on a bold display with their ‘Queen of the Jungle’ theme; Models were body painted in animal print for their runway walk.
Shea Moisture had models strut in bright yellow attire while they showcased their natural curls styled in top buns, faux hawks, and just out as a luxurious mane.
Following the evening’s festivities, guests were treated to a live performance by Amara La Negra who sang her most recent hit singles (“Insecure” and “Bam Bam.”) Another amazing treat for guest were swag bags stuffed with full-sized products from all brands in attendance.
