Naeem Khan is best known for dressing some of the most glamorous women in Hollywood.

Sarah Hyland, Anna Faris, and Portia Doubleday are just a few of the leading ladies who have worn Khan’s work in the past year alone.

As glamorous as his dresses are his runway shows at New York Fashion Week and his show on February 17th was no exception.  The collection is a reflection of the powerful architecture that surrounds us and is inspired by New York’s Art Deco influence and the parallel between the city and its dynamic women.

Let’s talk about the color Gold as it was the backbone of the collection, which was a cross between the roaring 20s and modern sophistication. Gold was everywhere and we loved it. Red, black and silver were also prominent as was heavy beadwork that should have appeared heavy but instead came down the runway both light and effortless. The backdrop of the show was an opera style curtain that turned grey with the show’s light thanks to set designer Bruce Thompson Creative Services. DJ Chelsea Leyland provided the music which was a Euro inspired beat.

Khan turned to Jon Reyman for Aveda for the teased afro hair vibe and Gato for Maybelline New York who designed the dark brown brow, nude eye, rosy cheek and dark berry lip. Models wore jewelry from Ranjana Khan, who also happens to be Naeem’s wife.

But what stood out the most in this year’s show was the little girl Khan brought down with him as he walked the runway at the show’s finale. He partnered with Make A Wish America to grant a little girl named Trinity her wish of walking the runway at NYFW. #swoon
