There are few movies in Hollywood that can pack romance, comedy, thriller, and and the action genre all into one, cohesively and brilliantly. If you’re a fan of the the first Kingsman, the second installment won’t disappoint you.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle doesn’t play it safe. It brings out all the punches when it comes to comedic-suspense and action scenes.
Matthew Vaughn directs a fun-storyline that leaves you laughing and eager to guess what can happen next. It was a lighter, easier play on a Bond movies, and Eggsy (Taron Egerton) does a brilliant job as the protagonist.
It was surprising and pleasant to see Julianne Moore in a more down-to-earth role, as she played drug lord Poppy. And Colin Firth’s role as Harry Hart managed to make me a bit emotional during the movie as his character and Eggsy reinforce their bond despite challenges.
The movie is set in London, Kentucky, and a Latin America Island, and Eggsy partners up with Merlin (Mark Strong), who is apart of Statesmen–Kingsman’s allied organization. Both are set on a mission to bring down Poppy and her drug-pin, as she’s infiltrated a lethal drug into millions of people in the United States.
The two hour spy movie continued to be a feel-good franchise with a lot of energy and excitement. And even with the simple plot-line the movie managed to pack in a lot of surprises.
