Wiki is a unique cat with the potential to leave an iconic impression in the foreground of Hip Hop.
Ratking has quickly made a name for themselves as a trio of talented artists bringing back the classic New York rap sound. Whether that’s intentional or not, doesn’t really change that a lot of NY Hip Hop Heads believe in them.
In addition to being still being young in respect to the game, each member has been honing their skill set in solo careers. It’s a great formula, because most of the time Hip Hip groups lose the individualism that only comes from the hustle of going solo.
Wiki’s spent a lot of time in the kitchen (at his Moms’) sharpening his flow and all that work is manifested in Lil Me. Each track has Wiki exploring the scope of his rap skills and adapting well to a strong variety of instrumentals.
I love Wiki’s ability to have one foot in a classic boom bap style while experimenting flows that draw influences from art rap to grime. On this mixtape he shows a great ability in making these different sounds his own, and further building on them.
I also just love the personality Wiki has behind the mic, shameless and brash while open to share the struggles in his life.
