The Masters of Ceremony kicked off their annual tour at Radio City Music Hall in New York. With appearances by some of hip hop’s most iconic MC’s such as Rakim, Ma$e, The Lox, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, this concert was incredible.

When you think of rap greats and hip hop legends, you instantly think of the names that were featured on this years Masters of Ceremony Tour. With iconic DJ Kid Capri hosting, this concert was more than just a concert. It was a historic event for hip hop culture and true hip hop fanatics. For music listeners who enjoyed rap tunes from the mid and late 90’s up until the early 2000’s, this was definitely the place to be.

Legendary rap MC Rakim hit the stage. In true New York fashion, he stepped out in a fresh pair of construction wheat Timberlands while dressed in Brooklyn Nets gear. He performed his late 90’s classics “It’s Been A Long Time,” “When I B On Tha Mic,” and “Guess Who’s Back.” The thousands that were in attendance sang and rapped every word as Rakim stood center-stage. Constantly hyping and entertaining the crowd, Rakim continued on with “When I’m Flowin” and “How I Get Down.”

Putting on for the city of Yonkers, The Lox then hit and shut down the stage. Consisting of the three members but one not in attendance being Styles P, the iconic group performed some of their classic street anthems and freestyles. Songs such as “Mighty D-Block,” “Made You Look”, “Money, Power, Respect” and “Welcome To D-Block” were late 90’s hits that excited attendees.

As the show continued on, other legendary music acts such as Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Shabba Ranks, and Ma$e hit the stage. They also performed some of their most memorable hits and features from the 90’s era.
