Marvel’s Ant-Man may be their smallest hero, but from the way it looks he may end up being one of their funniest.
In a year where we saw Marvel release Age of Ultron, people forget that they have one more movie on the horizon closing out their Phase 2 sequence: Ant-Man. As a character, Ant-Man doesn’t really seem all that special and doesn’t seem to compare to the popularity of the current group of Avengers. But as the trailers have shown, Ant-Man seems to have a sort of charm that we haven’t quite seen from The Avengers themselves before. So far, it seems Ant-Man is relishing in being an unknown of sorts, similar to how Guardians of the Galaxy came out of nowhere last Summer. I’m not quite sure if Ant-Man will reach that level, but with Marvel anything is possible. The new trailer for Ant-Man doesn’t quite bring anything new to the table, but it doesn’t go and spoil any big scenes which is something I’m rather grateful for.
Ant-Man is directed by Peyton Reed and written by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Adam McKay, and Paul Rudd. Starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas. Ant-Man will be released in theaters July 17, 2015.
