‘London Has Fallen’ Trailer is Full of Action and Destruction For Everyone To Enjoy

With enough explosions to make Michael Bay proud, London Has Fallen looks to be some more of the same as it’s predecessor, but it’ll most definitely be a fun time.

The first trailer for London Has Fallen has been released and if you’re looking to shut your brain off for a few hours and enjoy Michael Bay-esque explosions, this is the movie for you. Following in the surprisingly successful footsteps of Olympus Has Fallen, the sequel looks to be just as much fun as the first. While Olympus may not have had the best reviews, who can argue when it made over double its budget? Having Gerard Butler lead an action film that is very heavy on the action has proven to be successful in the past, so it only makes sense to make a franchise out of it.

The toned down synopsis for London Has Fallen is basically that the British Prime Minister has died under mysterious circumstances and his funeral is an obvious must-attend event for the leaders of the world, including U.S. President Benjamin Asher (played by Aaron Eckhart). Obviously, things don’t go as planned and having all of the world leaders in one room is probably not the best idea as most of them are killed. But Asher, along with his lead Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Butler), are both alive and on the run as they try to figure out how to stop the threat.

London Has Fallen is directed by Babak Najafi, written by Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt, Chad St. John, and Christian Gudegast, and stars Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, and Melissa Leo. London Has Fallen will be in theaters March 4, 2016.
