‘On My Block’ actress, Sierra Capri partnered up with St. Ives to give college students the chance to win a free year of college tuition and books for up to $50,000.
‘On My Block’ star Sierra Capri who plays the role of Monse, knows a thing or two about the stresses of being a college student. Before joining the cast of the Netflix hit series, ‘On My Block’ Capri was a full-time student pursuing her bachelor’s in biology. With approximately 75% of college students being stressed out over personal finances, based on the Ohio State University’s 2020 Study on collegiate financial wellness, Capri decided to team up with St.Ives to alleviate the stress she so vividly remembers, for one lucky college student. On October 19th, Capri announced on her Instagram that she and St. Ive’s would be teaming up to give college students a chance to win one year of free tuition and books, alongside a year of St. Ives Solutions for some stressfree, healthy, glowing, skin. With Capri and St. Ives gearing up to announce the winner, we wanted to chat with Capri about some of the ways she relieves stress, skincare, and the excitement around her partnership with St. Ives.
The Knockturnal: What were some ways you used to de-stress back you were a student?
I love yoga and meditation. They are both great if you experience anxiety.
The Knockturnal: What is your current skincare routine and when did you start to develop a routine?
When I was in college, I didn’t have a super-set skincare routine. Instead, I adjusted my products based on what I needed at the time (but, this actually ended up being more expensive as I was buying at the moment versus planning and looking at my skin needs holistically). But, once I got on a stricter shooting schedule for “On My Block”, I began to see the benefits of sticking to a skincare routine to keep my skin in good condition and health. In partnering with St. Ives, I’ve had the chance to try their new Solutions line, which includes acne care products too. It’s a four-product collection and I use three of them twice a day (morning and evening) like clockwork: the cleanser, the toner, and moisturizer with SPF 25 built-in. There is also a spot treatment in the line I use when I need to.
The Knockturnal: What are some of the reasons you love this St. Ives line and which step in your routine is your favorite?
I love this new St. Ives Solutions line because it’s a no-stress way to deal with my breakouts (which funny enough, are often stress-induced). The products feature 100% natural tea tree extract and have a cooling sensation on my skin. I also love how the line was thoughtfully developed – it has sheer formats, effective ingredients, and an amazing price to make it as inclusive as possible. It’s hard to pick one step I like best, but as we’re moving into colder weather, I’d have to say applying the SPF 25 Moisturizer. It feels rich and creamy but not heavy and I love that it features SPF (so I’m saving a step and helping to protect my skin).
TheKnockturnal: With On My Block coming to an end do you have any new and exciting projects coming up?
I have a lot of exciting things coming up! There’s nothing I can speak on at the moment, but I’m very excited about what the future holds.
The Knockturnal: What are some things you and Monse have in common?
We’re both headstrong and very loyal to our loved ones.
TheKnockturnal: How would your character Monse de-stress what do you think her skincare routine would be like?
Sierra Capri: Monse would de-stress by reading or spending time with her siblings, and she probably wouldn’t have a skincare routine because she’s so focused on other important things, but the older she gets, she might start liking beauty and skincare products.

The Knockturnal: What differentiates Cleo Harper, in your eyes, from other workout and athleisure apparel brands?
Courtney Hogan-Catley: First and foremost, Cleo Harper was created to make women feel beautiful in their activewear – something that matches the style they bring in their daily wardrobes. The Knockturnal: Where do you find inspiration as a brand manager, and how do you craft new campaigns and styles?
Courtney Hogan-Catley: It’s all very much a team effort. Our Head Designer comes up with the concept for a new collection, drawing inspiration from everywhere! Places around the world are especially inspirational to the design team. The collection is then created based around key colours and signature styles, and is built out from there. Once the collection is complete, we make sure that we have something for everyone, and it goes from there.
The Knockturnal: Cleo Harper is on the cutting edge of price point and quality, as well as style. What are the long-term goals for the brand?
Courtney Hogan-Catley: We love that our customers come from all over the globe and how personal and close-by in proximity we feel to everyone, with our lightning-fast shipping & customer service. I love the bright colors, perfect coming into our Australian summer but also perfect to add a bit of brightness to our international customers #CleoWardrobes who are heading into winter. My current favourite outfit is either our Vista set which is a brand new colour for us – the set is the Zeppelin Bralet & Soul 3.0 Legging – the most comfortable set I own and feels amazing on. Another favourite for the whole #CleoTeam is the District Oversized Sweater in Oatmeal with the Spin Shorts in Pink.
