Kanye West, Ellie Goulding, Mumford and Sons and The National are participating in a collaborative album with Global Citizen and Ben Lovett of Communion Music.
The album entitled Metamorphoses consists of artists creating songs from the stories and experiences of activists and music fans. Anyone can submit a word or story to Global Citizen on Global Citizen’s site. Lovett and the musicians will sort through and find the most captivating ones to be featured on the 12 track album. Metamorphoses is set to be released in Fall 2016.
Lovett said in a statement that, “Metamorphoses has the potential to break down our preconceptions of the voices of creativity, what different people around the world are thinking and who has the right to be heard.”
Lovett and many artists have worked with Global Citizen to amplify their goals to end poverty by 2030 and fight climate change and injustice in the world. Communal Music has also worked towards spreading that belief that music can inspire change through action.
Even more artists participating in the album as well an details on the release date will be announced later in the year. More details on the project and how to make a submission can be found on the Global Citizen website.
