This season, The Knockturnal got into the holiday spirit with arguably the best jazz music New York City has to offer.

On Wednesday, Jazz at Lincoln Center hosted their annual Big Band Holidays concert in the stunning Rose Theater at the Time Warner Center.

The 2-hour-long concert kicked off with the holiday classic “White Christmas” and closed with a rendition of “Jingle Bells” that frankly, had us dancing in our seats.

Legendary jazz vocalist Catherine Russell joined the jazz band for various songs, but it was her performance of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” that hit the high notes in all the right places.

Jazz singer Kenny Washington had us La-la-landing when he also graced the stage scatting his way through The Sound of Music’s “My Favorite Things.”

After the concert, we got a sneak peek into Lincoln Center’s newest series,“Hang Set.”

A social experience that gives music fans ages 21-40 an up close and personal behind the scenes look at what makes this hall THE place to be for jazz.

Hang Set is included with the price of a ticket and features pre and post-show events. Most events feature an open bar, special talks with the musicians, and food samplings from some of NYC’s classic eateries like Amy’s Bread.

More Hang Set experiences are in the works for early March 2018, so check their calendar for more details and ticket information.

And while the holidays will soon be over, jazz novices and newbie fans alike can take in Jazz at Lincoln Center all year long.

Located just feet from the Rose Theater,  Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola has become the it spot for young professionals seeking a unique concert experience.

With stunning views of Columbus circle, the 140-person venue lets visitors soak in all that jazz while dining and drinking the night away.
