Ty Dolla Sign is a star. He oozes charisma and has a boatload of talent. The moment I saw him in person I thought “Oh. Yeah that guy is the best at everything.”
I’ve been playing his mixtape “Campaign” a few times a day all the way through for a while now. Ty took a second to talk to us before the Real Show LA by Real 92.3 in Los Angeles.
How’s it feel to play in front of your hometown crowd?
It’s always love in front of the hometown crowd. Shoutout to everybody in LA; LA made me. Taylor Gang for life. Shoutout to Real 92.3.

Blasé is one of my favorite songs of last year. I love when it breaks into that three-part harmony. How’d you come up with ideas like that? It’s really unique.
Just growing up on the Isleys and Take Six and gospel music and anything that had harmonies. Growing up in church, I just loved harmony. I know a lot of people go with the single note shit. But I have the harmonies to offer.
You liked it, you paid attention, so that’s all that matters.
