From September 15th to October 15th, Hispanic Heritage month celebrates Hispanic Americans’ history, culture, and contributions whose ancestry comes from South and Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. In Honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, I wanted to share some of my favorite go-to beauty products from some great Latinx own brands.
1. Bold Aspirations Liquid Lipstick by PDL Cosmetics ($23)
I’ve been loving the way the Bold Aspirations Liquid Lip feels on my lips; it’s a super comfortable formula! PDL Cosmetics was founded by Latina actress and activist Patricia De Leon. The Panamanian actress who stars in HBO Max Original Generation, FX Mayans MC, and ABC Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, Station 19, created a line of highly pigmented, cruelty-free, and vegan lip products. “I created PDL Cosmetics because I have learned throughout my life, career, and work with others that beauty can be positively life-changing. Color is incredibly powerful and transformational, and it is important to me that the products are flattering and last all day. The empowering feeling one gets when they put on a great lipstick or lip gloss is why my brand was born to encourage confidence and motivation for all,” said Patricia De Leon. Alongside the incredible Bold Aspirations Liquid Lip matte formula, PDL Cosmetics also has High Powered Lipstick semi-matte and the Sexy Shine Lipgloss that are all available on their website.
2. Last But Not Least Moisturizer by Covey Skincare ($49)
My new go-to moisturizer, Last But Not Least, by Covey Skin, is one of the most hydrating moisturizers I have in my arsenal of skincare products. Co-Founded by Christina Garcia, whose father emigrated from Cuba, instilled in the family values when co-founding Covey Skin. “I’m just so proud of the values that have been instilled in me as a Hispanic person. No matter what, we are about putting family first and treating people with love and respect. That is something that my grandparents instilled in me when I was very young. And they also value hard work and dedication.” shared Garica in the Covey blog.
3. Dew Me Over by Dezi Skin ($34)
