On The Scene: IFC Films celebrates The 2019 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Following the 2019 Film Independent Spirit Awards, IFC Films held their annual celebration yesterday in sunny Santa Monica, California.

Held at 41 Ocean Club – adjacent to the Pacific Ocean – the celebration was buzzing with excitement and joy as the IFC Films Spirit Awards nominations and their upcoming 2019 slate was announced. Guests were greeted with specialty drinks, courtesy of sponsor Tullamore D.E.W, and a beautiful display of baked delights from HERS Bakery enchanted the eyes and palate.

Nominees for the upcoming slate include Carey Mulligan, nominated for Best Female Lead in Wildlife, Diego Garcia, nominated for Best Cinematography for Wildlife, and Paul Dano, nominated for Best First Feature for Wildlife.

Also in attendance was IFC Films Co-President Lisa Schwartz, IFC Films EVP of Acquisitions Arianna Bocco, IFC Films SVP IFC Center John Vanco, CEO of AMC Networks Josh Sapan, Spirit Awards nominee Carey Mulligan, and others such as John Waters, Spirit Award Nominee Ari Aster (HEREDITARY), Spirit Award Nominee Jeremiah Zagar (WE THE ANIMALS), Alex Wolff, Miguel Arteta, Craig Johnson, Aaron Katz, Crystal Moselle, Nicolas Pesce, Mary Kay Place, Sophia Takal and Lucy Walker.
