Memories, but make it fashion.

Fashion isn’t just about clothing. It isn’t just a global industry that influences what we wear and anticipates how we wish to be perceived by others. It’s more than that.

It’s a form of self-expression, a way to communicate who you are to the world visually, not verbally. It is a cultural and social experience that tells the story of a group or individual’s background and personal legacy. For some, fashion drives the desire to produce newness. For Evan and his new collection, fashion creates a safe space to protect and honor his past.

Evan Hirsch is a young, up-and-coming fashion designer, whose designs make you do a double take. Based in New York, Hirsch is known for his transformational and versatile looks, ranging from everyday wear to avant-garde. This bold take to fashion has social media buzzing as Hirsch has fostered over 65 million views worldwide with more than 500,000 followers on Tiktok and 100,000 followers on Instagram.

This past year, the 27-year-old was recently featured on The Tamron Hall Show for his designs, with the TV host and journalist wearing one of his stylish pieces. As a lover of the stage, Hirsch first saw himself as a Broadway icon. On the show he states, “I never thought I would be in the fashion industry. I always thought I was going to be God’s gift to Broadway’s world. I would be cast in roles in the back of the corner of the stage. That wasn’t really my forte. I was led to create and to channel my creativity and theatricality into fashion.” As Fashion Week sweeps through the many boroughs of New York, Hirsch is still owning the stage, but in another way.

From Broadway dreams to runway reality, Evan debuted his Spring/Summer 2025 collection on the rooftop of The Starlight Hotel on Saturday, June, 7th. The theme for this collection was inspired by Hirsch’s upbringing as his home life was always a safe haven for him. Entitled, “Memories, Drapery, and Milestone,” the presentation allowed Hirsch to wear his heart on his sleeve and dress his models with mementos from his old home…literally.

Upon learning that his childhood home would be sold after his parents’ retirement, Evan confiscated drapes, curtains, upholstery cloth-backed wallpaper, and other pieces he felt resembled a textile. Hirsch used his talent as a designer to pay tribute to his beginnings as he built this current collection. “I wanted to honor all the memories we had there by turning those fabrics I grew up with for 27 years into designs,” he stated nostalgically. “When I look at these pieces, I can reminisce about my house and all of the rooms in which I became the person that I am today.” He honored his family beautifully.

All 20 looks involve sentimental pieces that lived behind his home in Dix Hills, Long Island, and its signature, blue front door. Floral kitchen drapes created a ruffle day dress, the dining room chairs became a plaid ruffle corset with a matching flared skirt set, and his grandparents’ cushions transitioned into a ball gown with cross sashes and a three dimensional rose. “Going through all of my accumulated possessions and mementos was a difficult task,” Evan explains, yet the audience deemed it worth it. Many “ou’s”, “ah’s,” and other words of amazement filled the room as guests were impressed by the multiple transformations. However, the designs weren’t the only items being fancied over. Hirsch had the opportunity to partner with MiaDonna, The Eco Diamond Company, to show a 21.06 carat Emerald cut diamond on numerous models. The diamond–nearly 19mm x 13mm x 9mm in size–was incredibly stunning as it glimmered past the audience’s eyes.

Evan also had the pleasure of partnering with The Brain Tumor Foundation as he dedicated his show to the memory of his loving grandfather, Dr. Herbert S. Krane. “He was a jokester, but I loved that he supported me so much. He always said, I’m proud of you, so that was really kind. Unfortunately, he had a brain tumor and passed away in July, so I didn’t want to let this opportunity go by in vain. I wanted to do something to support The Brain Tumor Foundation here in New York and give back to them.” Hirsch’s last look, a white floral cape revealing “leave a tip,” with a leather halter, gave guests the opportunity to give back so that future families wouldn’t have to bear the loss of a loved one due to the disease as his family did.

The familiarity of his origins has been present for all of Evan Hirsch’s life. Now, with this heartfelt collection, he can keep that feeling forever.

Join Evan in honoring his late grandfather, as well as other lives lost, by making a donation to The Brain Tumor Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting patients and families dealing with the devastating diagnosis of a brain tumor here.
