Hold the excitement, despite the advertisement Drake hits back with his response on how he’s not performing at the Grammys.
Despite the Grammy’s commercial during the Super Bowl, that showed a large list of performers to expect during the awards shows, Drake will not be one of those performers. The rapper is nominated for four Grammys for the night; however he too was surprised to see his name show up on television among the list of other performers. Immediately taking to twitter the Canadian rapper responded, “I am not performing at the Grammy Awards…but hey it’s the thought that counts” easily squashing any excitement of the performer hitting the stage.
With the Grammys coming up soon the Super Bowl was the perfect time to air commercials, along with many other companies, however this mistake got many fans’ hopes up only to come straight back down to earth. But the awards night is still jam-packed with other spectacular performances. The stage will be graced with the likes of Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, the cast of Hamilton, and Adele will be coming back after a long hiatus.
Maybe after the mix up it’s possible for the Grammys to work out a deal with the nominated artist, however Monday February 15th is already set to be a fun filled night whether the rapper takes the stage or not.
