This film will have you screaming…
“The Visit” starts as a benign trip to the grandparents house where Becca and Tyler connect with the elders of their maternal family that they have never met. So they board a train and go into the deep Pennsylvania country to meet their grandparents on their farm. They are welcomed with open arms and baked goods as they start to get to know one another. That night, they noticed something was not right with their grandmother and later on with their grandfather. The kids sleuth to find the causes of these happenings and what they discover will shock them.
The film includes many expected traditional jump scares but with so many twists that the audience wasn’t able to recover fast enough. Along the way, the scares were punctuated with more confusing twists and turns that leaves the audience wondering what exactly is going on in the household. It wasn’t until the end that the puzzles fall in place and the movie takes a mind blowing plot twist from way out in the left field that the audience never saw coming. A wave of “OOOHS” and “AAAAHS” echoed the theater as the audience pieced everything together and anticipated the outcome.
It was directed by M. Night Shyamalan and produced by Jason Blum.
