Hotel Transylvania 2 continues the love story of Mavis and Jonathan, the film explores the idea of a mixed marriage. Mavis, a vampire, weds Jonathan, a human at the Hotel Transylvania which her father, Dracula owns. Soon after, they conceive a baby boy who they are unsure if he is to be born a monster or a human.

The parents of the boy welcome the fact that their baby, Dennis is a human with no extraordinary powers like those from Mavis’ side of the family. Because Dennis does not exhibit any monster-like tendencies, Mavis starts considering moving to the human world and living with Jonathan’s parents in California. Mavis is astounded by the human world and the idea of living with humans.

However, Dracula is adamant to prove that Dennis is a vampire in order for his family to stay with him at the hotel. A hilarious adventure ensues as Dracula and his crew takes Dennis on a short trip during the night to try to show Dennis how to be scary. Dracula’s efforts were not rewarded as the night was uneventful when Dennis did not exhibit any scary traits.

Whether the child grows fangs or not, the film is jam packed with inserts of humor and laughs for all ages. It also demonstrates to children that no matter who we are and what we do, family accepts us all, vampire or human.
