Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a British-American fantasy drama.
Inspired by a book of the same name by J.K. Rowling, this is a spin off of the overly successful Harry Potter Film Series directed by David Yates, who will be returning as director for Fantastic Beasts.
This film was written by J.K. Rowling and marks her screenwriting debut.
The film will start in New York, around 1920, seventy years before the Harry Potter series. The story follows Newt Scamander’s arrival at the Magical Congress of the United States of America, for a meeting with an important official. This meeting is a magically expanded briefcase, which houses a number of dangerous creatures and their habitats.
The creatures escape from the briefcase and send the American wizarding authorities after Newt. The creature also threatens the state of magical and non-magical relations, which is already in a dangerous place.
Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne stars in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander. The film also stars Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell, Fatith Wood-Blagrove, Carmen Ejogo, Jon Voight, and Rob Perlman.
Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them is out November 18,2016.
