Fans have been eagerly awaiting the second season of “Motherland: Fort Salem,” which returns to Freeform on Tuesday, June 22.
Season one followed Taylor Hickson’s Raelle, Jessica Sutton’s Tally, and Ashley Nicole Williams’ Abigail as they trained in combat magic with the U.S. Army. Throughout the season, the trio worked to protect their nation from The Spree, all the while exploring their own relationships and beliefs.
The epic season one finale was complete with countless cliffhangers that left audiences with many questions, particularly in relation to the futures of Raelle, Tally, and Abigail. Season two promises to be even more exciting than the last, with the characters facing new threats, new dangers, and perilous magic.
Following quarantine and a hiatus, the excitement of returning to film a second season of Motherland: Fort Salem was not lost on the cast. “We were so grateful that the audience pushed enough for us to bring it back,” Hickson says. “I think that was just mind-blowing.”
The cast discusses portraying their characters, their relationships on and off screen, and more. Motherland: Fort Salem is executive produced by Eliot Laurence, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Kevin Messick.
Season two will premiere June 22 at 10 PM on Freeform.
