The hit Amazon Prime TV series, Swarm, stars Nirine S. Brown, a New York-native entertainer who has numerous talents.

Since Nirine S. Brown has been dancing and now is an actor, her talents have allowed her to work with some of the biggest names in the industry for over a decade, including Beyoncé at Coachella, Tyler Perry in Ruthless and A Jazz Man’s Blues, and now Ni’jah on Amazon Prime’s hit show, “Swarm”. Despite the fact that Brown is very versatile and unique as an artist, she has been able to incorporate a wide range of talents into a wide range of projects.

“I feel like as an actress, it was my job to give the essence of being there and feeling my essence and my energy through that screen. Even if I had zero lines, it’s my job to make sure that you feel me through that screen,” she said, indicating that she thinks that audiences have received her very well on the show, and that it was just her essence that led her to be that pop star on Swarm.

Brown also said that her audition was a self tap audition as actors are still doing some taped auditions, even after the height of the pandemic. Besides submitting a dance piece, Brown had to also incorporate some technique she learned in dance class as she danced to a song of her choice.

“My goal was to for me show a little technique here. Let me show a  little rhythm here, a little hip-hop here, and just make sure I gave them all aspects of who I was as a dancer,” said Brown.

Due to Swarm’s main plot being about an obsessive fan that will do anything in order to protect the name of a pop singer on social media, it reflects the real-life culture of stans that exists beyond the television screen.

“So I feel like it was a fun spin on stan culture. let’s take this extreme, extreme fan and like make her like an antihero. She’s also like their hero because she’s making sure you’re not going to talk bad about my girl,” Brown said.

Swarm debuted on March 17, 2023 on Amazon Prime Video. Many critics have provided positive reviews of the film, praising the screenplay, direction, cinematography, soundtrack, and its balance between bright, vivid aesthetic and psychological horror elements. Bailey and Eilish have also received widespread acclaim for their performances in the series. Fishback’s performance has received widespread acclaim.
