Director David Raboy is rewriting the rules of what a typical coming of age film looks like in his all-new project, an intense 35mm shot action thriller “The Giant.”
Centering around a teenage girl trying her best to make it through the lows of her life as she and her friends embark on their final summer before college, the film is as unique as it is visually stunning, as the viewer never quite knows what to think while watching. Adapted from Raboy’s 2012 short of the same name, The Giant leaves various expressions of dread and fear that will stay with the viewer throughout it. But on the other hand, it creates visuals and thoughts that provide much deeper insight.
Jack Kilmer is astonishing. The son of Val Kilmer is paving his own way and absolutely shining in his roles. Starring as Will, Jack provides a lighthearted sense of positivity in the film, as his character is genuine and grounding.
