“The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey” is a limited series based on a novel by Walter Mosely.
This story follows Ptolemy Grey (played by Samuel L Jackson), a 91-year-old man with dementia being offered treatment to regain his memory. This treatment allows him to slowly figure out the tragic cause of his Nephew’s death.
While digging into his own past, we get a glimpse of what life was like for Ptolemy and the influence he had on his loved ones.
Thankfully, The Knocturnal was able to have a chat with the cast to get more insights into the making of this drama series.
“I found out that Sam really really wanted me to do it!” Dominique Fishback (Robyn) stated when asked about being a part of the project.
Cynthia McWilliams who plays the wife of Ptolemy Grey “Sensia” added, “[This story] tells us about a man who loses pieces of himself but also we get to see him in his prime!”
Marsha Stephanie Blake (Neicie) and Omar Benson Miller (Reggie) also tell us about how the creator Walter Mosely carried that feeling of “Familiarity and Humanity” into these six episodes.
The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey premiere on March 11 on AppleTV.
