On March 15, The CW premieres “Bulletproof: South Africa.”
The action-packed series shows the lives of cops Bishop and Pike and their family vacation gone wrong. The group flees London in need of a break from the city life however, their vacation quickly evolves into an investigation and the hunt for an abducted child. Their skills become needed to help one family find their daughter, however, this time they are working as citizens and not as members of the police force.
The show explores both London and South Africa showing the differences of both cities and showing the diversity of them. Actors Noel Clarke and Ashley Walters hope that American viewers can see the similarities between the US and the UK and a different side of British culture which is typically shown within the context of a period piece. The show highlights the diversity, modernity, and excitement that is often absent from the representation of England.
Bulletproof: South Africa offers audiences a sense of escapism while rooting for cops Ronnie Pike and Aaron Bishop. The show also introduces American viewers to the shared experiences people of color have around the world. When creating Bulletproof actor Ashley Walters discusses the social awareness that goes into the show and the active effort to shy away from stereotypes.
Bulletproof: South Africa offers a sense of escapism and excitement through its action-filled plot. Tune on Monday night at 8 pm EST on the CW and the following day on CWTV.com.
