โAlternatino with Arturo Castroโ is a brand new variety comedy series from Comedy Central. The showโs description exclaims, โFollow Arturo Castro as he attempts to navigate life as a modern Latino man- whatever that meansโ, and there is no better way to describe this show.ย It comprises of several sketches per episode that depict hilarious takes on aspects of Latino culture. This spans anywhere from a serious 60 minutes-esque take on the classic elementary Spanish phrase โDondรฉ estรก la bibliotecaโ to a parody of a Latino late night talk show. Arturo also tackles several issues, informing people through the medium of comedy.ย โI feel like humor is a really disarming tool and itโs a really good informational tool,โ Arturo said, โWhen you laugh and youโre relaxed, youโre a little disarmed, so the show tries toโwith the best intention possible-inform a little bit sometimes.โย While some aspects of the show are based on personal experiences from Arturo and the writers on the show, they also base it off of their own comedic sensibilities; โFor the most part, what is making us laugh today, and then we go and put on a silly costume and try to do that for other people.โ
