Fashion week was in for a good night’s sleep.
Last Wednesday night luxury European sleepwear company Dagsmejan premiered their brand in America by hosting a rooftop party during New York Fashion Week. The party took place in the Showfields building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The friendly ambiance was underscored by soft music which flowed throughout the rooftop, along with the pleasant scent of lavender.
A queen sized bed sat in the center of the room as various guests took turns lying on it. Guests could also browse a beauty station stocked with skincare items for their taking. A selection of curated hors ‘d’oeuvres was passed around the party, complimenting the event’s well-executed theme of relaxation. One interesting treat containing a combination of both goat cheese and lavender was surprisingly tasty. A selection of wines and other alcoholic beverages was also available for guests to enjoy.
The event featured products from each of Dasmejan’s three different sleep collections. One collection for bodies that run hot, one for bodies that run cold and another for bodies that fluctuate between temperatures. Soft articles of various muted colored clothing items were sleekly displayed for guests to feel and even try on if they wished. The co-founders Catarina Dahlin and Andreas Lenzhofer gave a speech towards the middle of the evening. They explained the philosophy behind the Dasmejan brand and were approachable to guests throughout the the night. Sleep science expert Dr. Rebecca Robbins also spoke about her partnership with Dasmejan and how she is working with them to scientifically create the sleepwear. Each guest was sent home with a goodie bag containing more skincare samples, a Dasmejan branded cookie and a small bunch of lavender.
