It’s been five years since West Coast legendary producer/recording artist DJ Quik released any new music.
Fallen out of love with music, DJ Quik went out to find that passion that he discovered at the beginning of his career and had even thought of simple retirement. After taking a trip around the world, Quik rediscovers his passion and returns with the release of his new single, titled, “World Girl”.
If you are familiar with DJ Quik’s catalog, along with making iconic hits for himself like “Pitch in on a Party”, “Tonight”, and “Trouble”. DJ Quik is also responsible for providing other West Coast icons with their own hits as well like Eazy E, Tony Toni Tone, and Snoop Dogg. Before “World Girl”, DJ Quik collaborated with Compton’s Problem for a joint EP, ‘Rosecrans’ (2017). Quik’s new single showcase a similar but different side of the Compton-native that is still smooth laid-back vibe but intriguing simultaneously.
Produced by Quik, “World Girl” showcases the introduction of new protege Christian Ford. Emerging West Coast recording artist, Ford opens the track with an auto-tuned catchy hook as he describes the world’s most beautiful women based on regions. While the track is closed out by a refreshing new verse from the legend as he discusses the type of ingredients that goes into the making of the perfect woman.
“World Girl” is the lead single for DJ Quik’s forthcoming new album, Untitled. His 10th album of this career will be available late 2018 under his Mad Science Recordings.
