The star of Netflix’s ‘She’s Gotta Have It’ has been confirmed to enter the Marvel Universe in a supporting role.
The star of Spike Lee’s reboot of She’s Gotta Have It, DeWanda Wise is joining Brie Larson and Jude Law in the newest production of Marvel – Captain Marvel.
Brie Larson is starring as the Marvel superhero in the film directed by duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Jude Law will also star in the film, which is set in the 1990s and features Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. Wise is set to fill a supporting role.
Captain Marvel is the alter ego of Air Force pilot Carol Danvers, who becomes a hero when her DNA is fused with an alien’s after an accident.
The movie will hit theaters nationwide on March 8, 2019.
