Elodie Yung Cast as Elektra for Marvel’s Daredevil

The French actress will be portraying one of Marvel’s most iconic characters in what looks to be an even more action packed season of Marvel’s new hit show.

Daredevil season two is already looking to be bigger and better than season one and that’s saying a lot since season one was a MASSIVE success. We already know that Jon Bernthal has been cast as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and from the way it sounds he may start off as someone fighting against Matt Murdock’s Daredevil. That alone is just the best news ever. But now, Elektra is in the mix. You may have noticed a throwaway line referencing the character in season one while Matt and Foggy are talking about being “avocados at law.”

Playing the iconic character? French actress Elodie Yung. If you haven’t heard of her before, that’s nothing to feel bad about; her most “recognizable” role to date has been in G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Commenting on Yung, Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb had this to say,

“After a worldwide search,  we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity. Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”

Before we see Daredevil, the next Marvel show to premiere will be Jessica Jones which doesn’t have an exact release date yet but it will be at some point this year. You can read more over at Marvel’s official website.
