Custo Barcelona presented its Insta Glam, fall 2019/winter 2020 collection and gave a preview of its childrenswear line, on Saturday February 9th at the Pier 59 studios in New York City. Natti Natasha, the Latin singer, joined the models at the catwalk to showcase the collection.
Custo Dalmau, the Catalonia native, presented a bright and powerful collection that showcased key items to combat the arctic winds that the city experienced this weekend.
Heavily focused on metallic fabrics, the collection had a broad range of silver, gold and copper hues on both outerwear and dresses.
Following the theme, the ambiance of the show was very flamboyant and selfie ready. Not only did the rose gold jackets set the tone, but also the patchwork dresses with risqué cut-outs that deserve the spotlight in a Miami club.
The Lurex details, multicolored sequins and even glittery fringe, definitely gave the dresses the classic sexy yet feminine look of Custo Barcelona.
What ultimately stole the show were the mini versions of the looks. Each of the kids’ outfit was perfectly timed after the adult version of the outfit, usually using the same fabric but a different cut. The little kids all had the confidence needed to rock the runway and be at the same level as their older counterparts.
To close the show, the designer took a bow with Dominican singer Natti Natasha who walked a couple of looks and rocked the show.
