Last night, Jazmine Sullivan gave an undeniably breathtaking performance live from the Gramercy Theater in NYC.

The R&B crooner is the smoothest blend of soul and swag to step foot in the music biz in a long time. Watching Sullivan perform is like watching the dopest track meet you’ve ever seen as her voice was serving runs for days. If you love her music in your headphones, then you wouldn’t have words if you’ve seen her live.

The venue was jam packed with an assorted blend of music lovers. As she took concert goers on a joy ride of her hits, she was sure to make pit stops and give her insight on some of her past relationship ails. These moments connected heavily with some fans as tears poured down from their eyes as they mustered up the voice to scream the lyrics to songs like “Stupid Girls” and “Forever Don’t Last” along with the singer. For a moment the songbird herself seemed to be a little teary eyed by the tale of a past heartache she says she gave all of herself to.

The show at one point felt more like a party as hands connected to grooving bodies were flailing in the air during “Holding You Down” with Sullivan herself finessing some of her dance moves as well.

A recurring message throughout the show was of Sullivan stressing the need for everyone to love themselves holistically. “You cannot truly love someone, unless you love yourself first” she said. To conclude the night, she thanked her fans for the support and expressed her gratitude, bowed then made her exit. Needing more, the room was filled with loud yells of “Encore, encore encore!” The lights returned and the songstress remerged to the stage to perform her final song “In Love with Another Man.” The room swayed and gave a thunderous finale applause then the night of magic had finally come to an end. Sullivan is a must-see live performer and illuminating vocalist.
