Cast of ‘Growing Up Hip Hop: New York’ Joins Red Carpet Premiere Event

The Growing Up Hip Hop franchise is back with a New York series featuring the sons/daughters of the legendary Ja Rule, Irv Gotti, Fat Joe, Charli Baltimore, Old Dirty Bastard, Flavor Flav, Rev Run, Kid Capri, and more.

The cast joined in a celebration screening and red carpet event, with an after party held at Lavo.

The first episode introduces the stakes for the kin to some of Hip Hop’s greatest legends as they fight to create their own path of artistry and stardom.

Some of the episode’s quarrels include:

Irv Gotti’s son, Johnathan Wilson Lorenzo, being arrested, and Fat Joe’s son, Ryan Cartagena, getting feedback on his latest tracks.

There are also sincere moments when Ja Rule’s kids express their concerns about the Frye Festival scandal.

You’ll even see Jojo Simmons re-introduce his label and bring together the children of  these notable rappers.

The show will continue as each cast member tries to step out of the spotlight of their parents and into their own.

Growing Up Hip Hop: New York premieres Thursday, August 29 at 9:00pm ET/PT on WE tv. Untold Stories of Hip Hop premieres Thursday, September 26 at 10:00pm ET/PT on WE tv.
