As part of New York Fashion Week, designer Byron Lars presented Exclusive Inclusion an intimate fashion show of women of all shapes and sizes in partnership with KIA Presents and Style360 Monday at Metropolitan West.
Launched in 1992, Byron Lars Beauty Mark is a Women’s fashion brand that’s known for its detailed tailoring and body-conscious silhouette and uniquely textured patterned dresses.
By integrating plus-size clothing into his line, Lars has proved that it is both needed, fashionable, and flattering. Lars states in his body positive message, “we’re reaching more of our girl by extending our size offering to include sizes from 0-22 for a curated selection of hallmark styles.
Our foray into size inclusion marks a seismic shift in the notion of a plus classification entirely because, it’s not a plus conversation at all…it’s a women’s conversation, and one that I’m so excited for Beauty Mark to be engaged in.
So, we’re keeping the label and styling the same, with the same obsessive compulsive attention to detail because, it’s the same woman we’re dressing, only greater numbers of her.”
The show highlighted Beauty Mark’s Fall ‘16 collection as a well as a preview of this Spring ‘17 line.
Celebrity spotting included Olympic medalist winner Kristi Castlin. Rocking a beautiful dress with a red, blue and black striped top and satin floral printed bottom, Castlin strutted the runway with her medal in her hands. Also in attendance and sitting in the front row was actress, singer and Power star, Naturi Naughton.
