The Bushwick Collective Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Thousands partied on the streets of Brooklyn’s Bushwick.

Saturday, June 4th, The Bushwick Collective, a non-profit organization associating hundreds of artists, celebrated its 5th anniversary. The block party featured 50 artists live-painting graffiti, food trucks, local vendors and concerts throughout the day.

At the day of the party graffiti artists such as D*Face, Damien Mitchell, Danielle Mastrion, Lolo, Dasic Fernandez, Plasma Slug, Phetus, Li Hill, Lola Blu, and Case Maclaim have worked on or just finished their new pieces. The area surrounding Troutman St. and Saint Nicholas Ave. has become a street art mecca of New York after the closing of Queens’ 5Pointz.

The sun and heat added up to the festive atmosphere. The crowd roamed around the block and danced to the beats provided by DJ Statik Selektah. Moreover live performances by Lil Waah, Chris Rivers, Joell Ortiz, Gull, Sun voyager, 

The event was wrapped with the performance by the one and only Jadakiss where the raving crowd didn’t mind the pouring rain.

The party was the highlight of a 3-day event The Bushwick Collective organized to celebrate its 5th anniversary.
