Braxton Keith has had an unforgettable year. From selling out shows, releasing his hit single “Cozy,” and dropping his anticipated EP Blue.
For one of his last shows of 2024, Braxton Keith took the stage at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, the largest honky-tonk in the world.
“[It was] crazy,” Keith said. “I was excited to come play Billy Bob’s, [but] I was very nervous because I just wanted to sell it out.”
Before his shows, Keith takes to social media with his segment “TONK News”. The news-style video keeps his audience informed about his upcoming performances and where to buy tickets. His inspiration for the unique approach came from a desire to showcase his personality while keeping viewers engaged.
“I was so tired of seeing these other artists just saying, ‘I am playing here tonight, come out at this time’,” Keith said. “I want something that’s interesting and will grab my attention.”
Keith achieved his goal by selling out Billy Bob’s and delivering an electrifying performance. Inside the honky-tonk were thousands of fans singing his songs back to him.
“Just feeling the energy from the crowd and seeing everyone smile and singing back at you, it’s something that you can’t ever get in the studio,” Keith said.
Growing up Keith wasn’t initially raised on country music but, in his early teens, his grandparents introduced him to the genre. He was quickly drawn to the classic, story-rich songs of artists like Merle Haggard and Marty Robbins.
“When I was [shown] country music for the first time, it was old-school [and] classic songs that told a story,” Keith said. “Those songs are songs that will outlive me [and] outlive my kids.”
His new EP Blue, released on December 6, continues his drive to bring old-school country music back. The five-track EP, which includes the hit song “Cozy,” has already surpassed 1 million streams since its release.
During the writing process of the EP, Keith said he wanted to create music that would become household classics for future generations to enjoy.
“I don’t want a song of the summer, I don’t want a song of the year,” Keith said. “I want a song that your children’s children will listen to and still gain something from.”
Braxton Keith wrapped up his last show of 2024 in Katy, Texas on December 28. While his shows for this year are complete, fans can look forward to more opportunities to see Keith live in 2025.
“We never stop touring,” Keith said. “Every weekend for the foreseeable future we will be on the road. So, if you haven’t seen us, get your tickets now at www.braxtonkeithmusic.com .”
