The last installation of Bud Light’s 13 show nation wide convention landed in New York City, where the night quickly turned into a star-studded kegger.
While the show was delayed due to technical difficulties, guests were able to participate in the election themed campaign by voting for the new Bud Light can design, shoot a selfie for a Bud Light campaign poster, and pose in a digital fitting room featuring a closet full of campaign merch.
Headlining the Bud Light Party Convention in NYC as advertised was Grammy nominated Big Sean and “Special Guest”- which turned out to be a series of surprises featuring Joe Jonas lead “DNCE”, Oakland rapper G-Eazy, and the man behind the “Major Key” DJ Khaled. Actor Michael Pena made a brief cameo to introduce the acts of the night, and was aggressively chanted into chugging a beer on stage before he could say more than a few words.
DNCE took the stage with their hit single “Cake by the Ocean” as well as a couple covers on some old classics. G-Eazy hit the stage hard with a repertoire of Billboard chart topping music- namely “Me, Myself, and I”, and “Order More” from his newly released album When It’s Dark Out. Also performed were some fan favorites from his previous album These Things Happen (2014). As a prelude to the night’s song line up, Big Sean’s set featured a large screen reminiscent of his Dark Sky Paradise (2015) release party at Up and Down New York last year. Lightning and fog hinted at the imminent performance and had us hyped for his new LP release, but unfortunately no preview was offered. Big Sean did a quick shoutout to G.O.O.D Music with “Champions”, “Blessings”, “All Your Fault”, “Clique” and club hit “I Don’t F*** With You” before bringing out DJ Khaled (who for some reason was wielding two Goyard bags on stage) for a series of collaborations on “Work For It” and “Holy Key”. Khaled himself took the stage solo for a minute to preform hype song “All I Do Is Win”.
