Since its inception the BET Awards has been one of the most influential awards shows to continuously celebrate and support black artist for all of their contributions to the culture at large.
This year’s June 23rd show was no different, as the Staples Center was filled with black excellence to celebrate one of the world’s most prolific game changers, Nipsey Hussle. The Knockturnal was live on the scene at the first ever blue carpet to talk everything from: the current position of women in hip-hop, their excitement for the night, bridging the gap between International and American acts, as well as the ripple effect Nipsey had on their lives.
