A Celebration of Bergdorf Goodman Magazine Spring Issue with Chef Miguel Aguilar

In classic Bergdorf Goodman style, the iconic department store took its team to Peru to shoot the Spring 2016 BG Magazine. To celebrate the launch of the colorful issue, Bergdorf’s hosted an evening of Peruvian delicatessens at their BG restaurant.

With exclusive views of Fifth Avenue and the park, we enjoyed delicious treats by reality TV personality, Chef Miguel Aguilar. The Peruvian native started his career as a professional surfer, which brought him to the United States.

After working in the kitchen for Bobby Flay, he discovered his passion for food, opened a top rated restaurant in Brooklyn, won the popular cooking competition Chopped, and became a finalist of Knife Fight.

It is no wonder that the luxury mecca selected him to participate in the event. The drinks included all Peruvian staples. Chilcano, the trendiest cocktail in Lima that seems to be pushing away the famous Pisco Sour, BG Pisco, a twist on the Pisco Sour, and the country’s beer, Cusquena.

We salivated over the ceviche clasico and vegetable tamales hors d’oeuvres. This was until the dessert came and we adored every single kind of alfajor offered. We tried the duo alfajor that has half of it dipped in chocolate, the lucuma alfajor with hints of vanilla and maple, and the favorite of the night, the traditional alfajor.

While every guest made it their mission to try all of the outstanding little bites, everyone enjoyed peaking into the stunning landscapes of the Inca land, which served as a background for this season’s boldest looks. From Gucci to Milly, Bergdorf succeeded in styling the perfect spring outfits. We can’t wait to finish reading this new BG magazine issue and decide the best combination of ethnic and effortless clothes to wear this summer, whether it will be in an exotic place as Cuzco or at the boardwalk at Rockaway Beach.
