Hip Hop group Beach Towel Club just dropped a video for “OVA” through Asian American Youtube channel ISAtv.
It’s always great to see artists come together in free spirited experimentation. When you have a bunch of different styles touch in a group environment, it’s bound to have a good outcome. “OVA” is a strong track that has that club/party appeal while keeping away from what’s expected from that kind of track.
Beach Towel Club is compromised of Mike B, Yung Koconut, and Rekstizzy. “OVA” is specifically produced by Big Banana, who’s really a monster with this kind of bass heavy, in your face beat-making. The beat really helps lift up the purposely drunken vocals of Mike B on the hook. Koconut comes through energetic and Rekstizzy’s yelling hits perfectly with the drums on the beat.
I’d love to see more from Beach Towel Club, as it really is an underground powerhouse of a collab in how it covers all the stylistic bases. Rekstizzy brings the power, Koconut supplies that trap type of sound, and Mike B has got soul leaking out his fingertips. Whether they cycle the production or stick with Big Banana they’ll have an easy time evolving their sound.
