It’s a jungle out there. And Desigual came out roaring for its Spring/Summer 2018 runway show with vibrant fashions, energetic dancers and vivid makeup. We were on the scene with MAC Cosmetics at their NYFW show at Skylight on Clarkson and were given a special behind the scenes look. We spoke with Fabiana Gomes, the Global Senior Artist with the MAC Pro Team and discussed the looks that Makeup Artist Mayia Alléaume created for the show and how they can be applied for strutting around the concrete jungles of the real world.

It’s All About The Blending:
In fashion as in beauty, you want to stand out. But when it comes to the actual application of your makeup routine, this season it’s all about finding the perfect blend.
Contouring is on its way out, at least unless you’re a professional artist who can truly master the technique which is always more difficult than it looks. But for those of us that live in a real world that doesn’t always include a full-time beauty team, find your perfect blend.
MAC’s Time Check lotion was applied to hydrate and mattify, with Studio Finish Concealer used to further perfect the skin. The goal here is to keep skin looking fresh and glowing for the upcoming summer/spring seasons.
For light skin tones, Pink Swoon and Peaches blush were applied in a circular shape on the apples of the cheeks—while Frankly Scarlett was chosen for darker skin tones. Soft Frost Extra Dimensions Skin Finish was later applied to cheekbones to give that extra oomph.

The Eyes Have It:
Mix things up with brown Haught & Naughty Mascara to curled lashes to keep the look va-va-va-voomy. Groom eyebrows with the eyeshadow and use clear gel to top it off.
Looking For The Perfect Pout:
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate with Lip Conditioner.
