MAC Cosmetics’ lead makeup designer, Val Garland, talks the look for Giamba’s show at Milan Fashion Week!
What Inspired the make up look for Giamba?
The makeup was inspired by the purity of the punk aesthetic in a less defined way.
With this look, there is no nice color or nice lip but rather a jet clean and simple face with a little accent on the eyebrows. This look was kind of quite hard because the clothes are very pretty and quite girly. We felt like we needed an accent of sorts so we drew the line in movement towards the top of the eye. Lots of the girls will have a really natural look with a boyish brushed up eyebrow. We will also put on the models the new MAC Mineralized Moisture Foundation but just where it is needed.
We are also using this new product on the skin. It is amazing! It is a highlighter and sculptor. It is fantastic and with this you get a really nice color. You can use it on the eyes but really you can use it anywhere.
The lead nail designer, Keri Blair, stated that the nail design follows the makeup aesthetic in the sense that it is a very clean design but with black or white accents on the nail body.
