On November 1st, the film’s stars celebrated at the Drive-In Movie Premiere of โBlackjack: The Jackie Ryan Storyโ directed by Danny A. Abeckaser at The Sunset Strip Presents: Late Night Drive-In Theatre at The Andaz West Hollywood. The film is based on the real-life story of New York street basketball legend Jackie Ryan.
When we arrived at the Andaz West Hollywood Hotel, there were tons of cars lined up 6 feet apart ready to watch the film. We were greeted with bags of M&M Candy Pop popcorn provided by Snack Pop and a menu to order food from the hotel kitchen.
The film’s talent in attendance included the film’s starsย Greg Finley, Ashley Greene, David Arquette,ย Brandon Thomas Lee, Robert Davi,ย supporting starsย Kyle Stefanski, Jon Carlo, George V. Andreakos, Scarlett Schoeffling,ย plus the film’s Directorย Danny A. Abeckaser,ย Writerย Antonio Macia,ย Composerย Lionel Cohen,ย plusย Blackjackย himself,ย Jackie Ryanย (The original streetball legend).ย To support in attendance wasย Lukas Haas,ย Peter Facinelli, Lily Ann Harrison, Frankie Delgado, and Jennifer Delgado, Marta Pozzan, directorย Corey Asraf,ย andย Diana Madison.
Also on hand was Robert Davi’s son, daughter, and wife Diana Davi,ย Ashley’s husband Paul Khoury,ย and Brandon’s brotherย Dylan Jagger Leeย and girlfriendย Daniella Beckerman.
The film also starsย Michael Rapaport, Tara Westwood, Geoffrey Cantor, Moise Morancy,ย andย James Madio,ย with cameos by Ben Lyons, Sean Avery, Bella Banos,ย and many more.
When the movie was over, all the cars honked their horns in applause. One of the many things that I am getting used to during this pandemic.
The film debuted on Amazon Prime Video, Itunes, Vudu, Google Play, Fandango, Vimeo, VOD, and select theatres on October 30th. The film is distributed by Gravitas Ventures. #Blackjackmovie
