I was able to sit down with English actor Arran Kemp who is the star of the independent Sci-Fi film “Future TX” from Level 33 Entertainment which sees two friends getting their first phones and both receiving a call from an entity who claims to be from the future.

The Knockturnal: Arran, where are you from and where did you grow up?

Arran: So, I’m from the U.K. I’m currently at home right now in a place called Poole Dorset. I’ve lived here all my life. My parents are originally from London but I’m here right now. Normally, I’m in Manchester at University, so they have a bigger city than where I am now, but I’m growing up here and I’m 20 now. So, yeah, 20 years of my life here.

The Knockturnal: So, how did you get started in the business of acting?

Arran: My parents were both kind of involved in acting when they were younger but never really pursued it and then they kind of encouraged me to get involved in theater which is normally where most actors start and certainly where I started and is kind of my first love, in terms of acting and then, eventually, i kind of got involved in film when I was older and I met the director of this film Tim Clague and Danny Stack of “Future TX” who, I kind of went to an audition for an earlier film they did. I wasn’t quite right for the part but met them there and then auditioned for the next film and got the role and I was very happy and then that’s where I started. It was a cool start because it was a feature film.

The Knockturnal: So, tell us more about the film “Future TX”, who you play and who your character is.

Arran: “Future TX” is a sci-fi film which is something rarely seen nowadays. It’s a film about two kids called Dylan, who I play, and Molly, who’s played by my wonderful costar Adele Congreve and it’s a film about these kids who get their first ones which is a big moment, I guess, in any teenager’s life and then they get a call from the future from a man who tells them they have to save the world.
